On dimensions and rectilinearity of the products with Lašnev factor (Q1584119)

It was proved for Tikhonov spaces [\textit{B.~A.~Pasynkov}, Sov. Math., Dokl. 14, 530-533 (1973); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 209, 792-794 (1973; Zbl 0287.54036)] that the piece-wise rectilinear product \(X\times Y\) satisfies the inequality \(\dim X\times Y\leq \dim X + \dim Y\). In the case when one of the cofactors is metrizable the product normality implies its rectilinearity. The author answers negatively the question posed by Pasynkov about piecewise rectilinearity of the normal product \(X\times Y\) in the case when \(Y\) has Lashnev cofactor. Moreover, it is proved that the normal product \(X\times Y\) of the paracompact space \(X\) and the Lashnev space \(Y\) is rectilinear.
