The author studies the cosmological implications of a time-variation \(c(t)\) of the speed of light \(c\). This speculative possibility allows to solve the standard horizon and flatness problem in a way different from the inflationary scenario, cf. for example \textit{F. E. Schunck} and \textit{E. W. Mielke} [Eigenvalues of the Stewart-Lyth equation for inflation with a blue spectrum, Phys. Lett. B 485, 231-238 (2000)]. Moreover, some consequences of a space-time variation of the gravitational and fine structure constants are discussed.
