By using the so-called Sǎlǎgean derivatives, the authors generalize some earlier investigations by (for example) \textit{M. K. Aouf} and \textit{H. M. Srivastava} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 203 No. 3, 762-790 (1996; Zbl 0863.30012)]. The usual properties and characteristics of the generalized class of analytic functions with negative coefficients, introduced in this paper, are derived in a standard manner.
