The authors give a survey of relations of difference posets with other quantum structures -- orthoalgebras, orthomodular posets -- considering also special cases of lattices and lattices with pairwise compatible elements. They prove that every pair of regular observables has a joint observable provided we deal with an atomic \(\sigma\)-complete Boolean difference poset such that the set of atoms is countable.
