Let \(M\) be an \(m\)-dimensional compact hypersurface in the Euclidean space. The author studies the non-existence of stable integral \(p\)-currents in \(M\). The method is due to \textit{H. B. Lawson} and \textit{J. Simons}, Ann. Math. (2) 98, 427-450 (1973; Zbl 0283.53049)]. Related results can also be found in the reviewer's paper [Colloq. Math. 73, 1-13 (1997; Zbl 0880.53050)] and \textit{Q. M. Cheng} [Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 13, 197-205 (1995; Zbl 0829.53046)].
