The authors study the general variational stability for the nonlinear difference system \(x(n+ 1)= f(n, x(n))\) by means of the notion of \(n_\infty\)-similarity. For related results see the paper of \textit{G. A. Hewer} [J. Math. Anal. 41, 336-344 (1973; Zbl 0256.34063)].
