The class of nonconstant analytic functions in the unit disk that have asymptotic values at a dense subset of the unit circle is called MacLane's class. The author uses tangential approximations as in \textit{N. U. Arakelyan} [Izv. Akad. Nauk Armjan. SSR Ser. Mat. 3, 273-286 (1968; Zbl 0175.07602)] to construct a function in MacLane's class that has no asymptotic paths of finite length.
