It is known that in many cases, a mapping \(f:X\to X\) with fixed points can be deformed to a fixed point free map. If the original mapping \(f\) is invariant with respect to some transformation group \(G:X\to X\), then a natural question is: can we still deform \(f\) to a fixed point free map if we restrict ourselves to \(G\)-invariant deformations? The authors show that even for the simplest possible group \(Z_2\) we can find a counterexample.
