The concept of rough set was introduced by Z. Pawlak in 1982 [see \textit{Z. Pawlak}, ``Rough sets. Theoretical aspects of reasoning about data'' (1991; Zbl 0758.68054) for a classical reference]. Here, the authors prove that rough set is linked closely to nonmeasurable set in finite measure spaces. In some sense, rough set is not a new concept, but a special case of nonmeasurable set.
