New results and solutions for the \(H_\infty\) filtering problem for 2D linear systems described by the Roesser model are presented. Based on the bounded real lemma for 2D systems, state space solutions are obtained for the observer-based \(H_\infty\) filters. The solutions can be computed by the LMI Toolbox in Matlab. The design approach is illustrated by an example.
