The authors consider an iteration method for estimation of effective elastic moduli of nonhomogeneous materials [\textit{T. Mori} and \textit{K. Wakashima}, Successive iteration method in the evaluation of average fields in elastically inhomogeneous materials, in G. J. Meng, M. Taya and H. Abe (eds.), Micromechanics and inhomogeneity, 269--282 Springer, New York (1991)], and propose a modified model to predict effective properties of composite materials containing randomly dispersed inhomogeneities.
