The author proves two results about \(G\)-invariant submodules of Lie algebras on which a finite group \(G\) acts. These results are applied to give short proofs of the embeddings of \(Ru\) and \(HS\) in \(E_7(5)\), \(^2F_4(2)'\) in \(E_6(5)\), \(U_3(8)\) in \(E_7(\mathbb{C})\) and \(J_1\) in \(G_2(11)\).
