A numerical analysis is given, concerning two box-schemes for a stationary convection-diffusion equation, related with the scheme of \textit{H. B. Keller} [Numerical Solution Partial Diff. Equations II, Proc. 2nd Sympos. Numerical Solution Partial Diff. Equations, Synpade 1970, Univ. Maryland, 327-350 (1971; Zbl 0243.65069)]. The one-dimensional case is considered. A first- (fourth)-order accurate scheme is derived. Some applications for flows in porous media are considered. A comparison with the SUPG-finite element method is given.
