The authors develop an a posteriori Arcangeli-type discrepancy principle for choosing the regularization parameter in a class of regularization methods for linear ill-posed problems employing Pereverzev's modified projection scheme. The procedure is illustrated numerically for Tikhonov's method applied to a linear integral equation of the first kind.
