Sufficient conditions for the oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the quasilinear second-order difference equation of the form \[ \Delta (a_{n}(\Delta y_{n})^{\alpha })+\phi (n,y_{n},\Delta y_{n})+q_{n}f(y_{n+1})=0,\text{ \;\;} \] are established. Examples illustrating the results are given.
