It is known for some time that higher-order methods for Euler equations may be constructed from first-order ones while computing accurate slopes for the evolution step. In the present paper this idea is outlined for a gas-kinetic BGK scheme on non-staggered mesh. Numerical results obtained by the new scheme are presented.
