The theorem of Stein-Rosenberg is generalized to the case of two \(M\)-splittings. \(A= M_1- N_1= M_2- N_2\), where the \(M_i\) are \(M\)-matrices and \(N_1\geq N_2\geq 0\), \(N_1\neq N_2\), \(N_2\neq 0\).
