In J. Funct. Anal. 130, No.~2, 345-356 (1995; Zbl 0823.47015), \textit{A. Kiselev} and \textit{B. Simon} considered rank one singular perturbations of general type and gave a construction of the perturbed operator via a so-called resolvent formula. This resolvent formula is generalized in this paper to a rather wide class of closed operators. An application to point interactions in one dimension is given.
