The authors show wide families of \(r\)-elastic curves in \(\text{AdS}_3\) (the anti-de-Sitter space of dimension 3). This enables them (via the Kaluza-Klein mechanism) to obtain the bosonic conformal string theory associated with Nambu-Goto-Polyakov action in Lorentzian principal \(U(1)\)-bundles over \(\text{AdS}_3\) [cf. \textit{A. M. Polyakov}, Fine structure of strings, Nucl. Phys. B 268, 406--412 (1986)].
