The instability problem of an immersed circle solution of the differential equation which describes the expansion of a given immersed convex closed plane curve and the formation of certain singularities are discussed. Some aspects of the curvature blowup rate for arbitrary initial data are also studied. The example of expansion of the limaçon curve is given in detail.
