The first part of the paper contains a review of the stability theory of a matrix pencil for discrete linear time-invariant singular control systems. Based on the newly introduced concept of total value of improper integrals, the main part of the paper is an attempt to present a global theory of integral transforms slightly more general than the one corresponding to the Laplace and Fourier transforms. At the end, several examples are given.
