This paper is concerned with the study of the existence of strong solutions, as well as the existence of compact global attractors for two one-dimensional equations: the strongly damped wave equation and the heat equation, both having mixed boundary conditions. The problem is studied in two different spaces, namely \(L^2\) and \(H^1\). The bounded dissipativeness technique and an Aubin-Lion type argument are used.
