The author proposes a subsystem synthesis method for dynamic analysis of a vehicle multibody system which consists of several subsystems. This method is based on the fact that the relative motion of each independent subsystem depends only on relative coordinates associated with this subsystem, which is treated as a subsystem that does not share any body with another subsystem. Each subsystem can be independently analyzed and then synthesized to analyze the overall vehicle system. For demonstration of the effectiveness of the method, a short long arm vehicle suspension subsystem is analyzed.
