First general degree \(n\) Veronese surfaces are investigated with respect to certain algebraic varieties in (\((n+1)(n+2)/2-1\))-dimensional projective space, ant it is shown that the Veronese surface forms a singular subvariety of those algebraic varieties. Closer investigations are made in the low-degree cases \(n=2,3,4\).
