Chain sequences and symmetric generalized orthogonal polynomials (Q1612332)

The authors consider a symmetric case (\(\alpha=\beta\)) of a version of the so-called Koornwinder polynomials, a generalisation of the Jacobi polynomials, with weight function \((1-x)^\alpha(1+x)^\beta+M\delta(x+1)+N\delta(x-1)\). An explicit expression is given for the parameter sequences of a chain sequence in terms of the corresponding orthogonal polynomials and their associated polynomials. Properties of the zeros of the polynomials are also given.
