The authors describe an extension to the variable stepsize case of their previous algorithm [\textit{D. J. López} and \textit{P. Martin}, Appl. Math. Comput. 96, No. 1, 65-73 (1998; Zbl 0943.65083)]. The main idea is to extend the Krogh techniques from Adams methods to the aforementioned algorithm. Adams variable steplength algorithm and two other methods are obtained as particular cases. The numerical examples show the advantages of the new code in the integration of perturbated linear problems.
