Here, the author presents proofs for the nonexistence of limit cycles in a part (as large as possible) of the parameter space for a quadratic system in class II of the Ye Yanqian classification, in fact, with the main purpose to squeeze down the region for which a proof is wanted that there exist at most two limit cycles around the origin. A nonexistence proof is given using the criterion by G. S. Rychkov, and the result is compared with some earlier results on this topic.
