Let \(X\) be a Banach space with uniform normal structure, \(C\) is a nonempty bounded subset of \(X\), and \(T\) a continuous asymptotically nonexpansive type mapping from \(C\) into itself. Then the authors show the existence of a fixed point of \(T\) under some additional conditions. Some special cases are discussed.
