The authors study necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a center for a lopsided quartic polynomial vector field. They use the algorithm introduced by \textit{J. P. Francoise} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 16, No. 1, 87-96 (1996; Zbl 0852.34008)] to compute the first nonzero derivative of the return map.
