The problem of the Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability of the Davison functional equation \[ f(xy)+ f(x+ y)= f(xy+ x)+ f(y) \] is considered. The author uses standard methods and obtains classic results. The stability of the Pexider version of the Davison functional equation is also discussed.
