The authors study the zero distribution of a sampled system represented by a FIR model when the sampling interval is small. The transfer function of the continuous-time system should not necessarily be rational. The main result demonstrates that the zeros of the FIR sampled system converge evenly to the unit circle or to the unit disc plus unstable roots, depending on the assumptions.
