The author deals with the existence and multiplicity of solutions of the problem \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u+\lambda u=|u|^{2^*-2} \cdot u\quad & \text{in }\Omega,\\ u>0\quad & \text{in }\Omega,\\ u=0 \quad & \text{on }\partial\Omega, \end{cases} \tag{1} \] where \(\lambda\in\mathbb{R}\) and \(2^*={2N\over N-2}\). The author shows how influence of topology and geometry of the domain \(\Omega\) has influence for the existence and multiplicity for solutions of (1).
