In this interesting paper, the local extrema of functions defined on topologies generated by a quasi-metric are investigated. Whereas for functions defined on metric spaces, the cardinalities of the set of extrema for continous and discontinuous functions are equal, for functions defined of quasi-metric spaces, they can differ. The paper contains many interesting examples.
