A note on the automorphism group of a compact complex manifold (Q1624910)

The author constructs a family of complex compact 3-folds with automorphisms that can be deformed into the identity through diffeomorphisms but not through holomorphic automorphisms. The manifolds in question are constructed from the total space of a certain rank-2 vector bundle on the projective line by division through a well chosen cyclic group; they are all deformation spaces of Hopf surfaces over the projective line. The structure of the fibres jumps at 0 and at certain roots of unity. -- The paper presents very carefully not only the arguments but also the leading ideas.
