The authors consider a class of variational inequalities resulting from the sum of an arbitrary vector and a homogenous polynomial defined by a tensor. The (so-called) tensor variational inequality is a natural extension of the affine variational inequality and the tensor complementary problem. It is shown that a class of multi-person noncooperative games can be formulated in this way. The special structure of the variational inequality is used to obtain some new conditions for global uniqueness and solvability.
