The main purpose of this paper is to prove a multivariate variant of a theorem of \textit{P. L. Butzer} and \textit{H. Berens} [Semi-groups of operators and approximation. Berlin: Springer (1967; Zbl 0164.43702)] and to present some applications which entail the approximation and reconstruction of continuous functions defined on a subset \(A_k\) of \([0,1]^k\).
