The authors study elastic bodies with cuspidal singularities at the surface and the phenomenon of wave propagation. The Umov-Poynting vector of the elastic energy transfer is computed to give the direction of wave propagation. The augmented scattering matrix and its properties are determined. The existence of trapped modes with a power-law behaviour near the tip is examined.
