The author proves that the flow map of the periodic fifth-order Kadomtsev-Petviashvili KP-I equation \(\partial_tu-\partial^5_xu-\partial^{-1}_x\partial^2_yu+u\partial_xu=0\) is not locally uniformly continuous on the energy space, even on the hyperplanes of fixed \(x\)-mean value.
