A class of scalar nonlinear delay differential equations of MacKey-Glasss type is studied in this paper. A real parameter is involved. The existence of a homoclinic solution for a certain value of the parameter is proved. This allowed to prove the existence of stable periodic solutions for nearby values of the parameters. The author uses a combination of a number of techniques such as monotone semiflows, oscillation properties, a Wazewski-type argument and invariant cone techniques.
