What are possible cardinalities of ultraproducts? For ultraproducts of infinite cardinals this question was resolved in the 1960s, at the time of rapid penetration of ultraproducts into model theory. This paper tackles the case of ultraproducts of finite cardinals; partial results (under assumption of the generalized continuum hypothesis) were obtained earlier by \textit{H. J. Keisler}, [Contemp. Math. 530, 163--179 (2010; Zbl 1242.03059)].
