The authors introduce a partial second-order subdifferential for extended real-valued functions of two variables by means of the coderivatives of the first-order partial subdifferential mappings. Calculus rules and conditions to guarantee the commutativity of the second-order subdifferentiability operation are presented. As an application and at the same time as a generalization of the classical result in the smooth case, the relation between the local minima of a function and the positiveness of the principal minors of its Hessian is proven.
