Using Haar wavelet methods, the authors solve some initial boundary value problems of partial differential equations, namely the nonlinear Dym equation of third order, the nonlinear Benjamin-Bona-Mahony-Burgers (BBM-Burgers) equation of third order, and the linear two-dimensional diffusion equation of second order. Numerical examples illustrate the performance of this approach in comparison to other numerical methods.
