The importance of spline curves in mathematics and computer science is huge. In this paper, the authors present a new class of spline curves with four local shape parameters. They remark that this new class of spline curves has some properties analogous to that of the trigonometric B-spline curves given by \textit{X. Han} and \textit{Y. Zhu} [BIT 52, No. 4, 953--979 (2012; Zbl 1259.65023)]. Those properties are investigated in Section 3 of the paper. In conclusion, the paper contains new results regarding the B-spline curves with local shape parameters and their properties.
