Free discontinuity problems with energy dependent on jump integrals and Dirichlet boundary conditions are studied. It is shown that they admit smooth minimizers under a smallness condition. Two examples illustrate the theory: elastic-plastic beam and elastic-plastic plate with free yield lines. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1387.35010].
