Some aspects of non-commutative $L_p$-spaces -- such as Haagerup's trace formula, and the correspondence between the normal functionals with the relatively invariant measurable operators on Takesaki duals -- are analyzed in the framework of modular algebras, as developed by the author in [ibid. 28, No. 6, 1075--1106 (1992; Zbl 0809.46075)].
