A new method for establishing a finite time singularity formation for moving interface problems in the incompressible Euler system is proposed and applied to two model problems. The first one is the two-phase vortex sheet problem with surface tension. The second problem considered involves the presence of a heavy rigid body moving in the inviscid fluid and eventually hitting the bottom of the fluid domain in a finite time.
