The authors consider the system of equations introduced by \textit{S. K. Wong} [``Field and particle equations for the classical Yang-Mills field and particles with isotopic spin'', Nuovo Cimento 65(A), 689--693 (1970)] to describe the motion of a classical colored spinless particle under the influence of an external Yang-Mills potential. These equations appear in different contexts, see for example [\textit{R. Montgomery}, Commun. Math. Phys. 128, No. 3, 565--592 (1990; Zbl 0703.53024)] and are nowadays subjects of intensive study.\par Here the authors treat an inverse problem, namely they show that one can recover the potential, up to gauge transformations, from lens data of the system. After passing to local coordinates, the problem is linearized and then solved in terms of arguments of microlocal analysis, mainly based on the recent developments by \textit{G. Uhlmann} and \textit{A. Vasy} [Invent. Math. 205, No. 1, 83--120 (2016; Zbl 1350.53098)].
