Determinantal singularities are defined by the vanishing of all the minors of a certain size of an \((m\times n)\)-matrix. They generalize complete intersection singularities. Essentially isolated determinantal singularities (EIDS) were defined by \textit{S. M. Gusein-Zade} and \textit{W. Ebeling} [Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 267, 113--124 (2009); translation from Trudy Mat. Inst. Steklova 267, 119--131 (2009; Zbl 1202.32023)]. The authors of the present paper consider \(\mathcal{G}\)-finite determinacy of matrices defining EIDS. They prove that matrices parametrized by generic homogeneous forms of degree \(d\) define EIDS. From this they deduce that \(\mathcal{G}\)-finite determinacy of matrices holds in general. As a consequence, \(\mathcal{G}\)-finite determinacy of EIDS of a given type \((m,n,t)\) holds in general, where the quantity \(t\) is defined by the ranks of the matrices.
