The present book contains a wide range of theoretical problems in mathematical physics. While it is primarely aimed to students of physics who want to develop their understanding of the mathematical methods used in modern physics, almost no problem in this book has a direct relation to a physical context. Consequently, this book may also be very useful to undergraduate and postgraduate students of mathematics interested in exercise problems in the theore of Hilbert spaces including operator theory, complex analysis, applications of Laplace and Fourier transforms to partial differential equations as well as Lie groups and algebras. Each of the four chapters is built in a systematical way, from more elementary problems related to basic notions, through intermediate once up to advanced ones which require a deeper understanding and more elaborate reasoning. At the end of the book, the reader can also find the answers and solutions to the problems.
