The author considers equations of planar steady adiabatic Chaplygin gas dynamics, and a simplified irrotational system with fixed entropy. The aim is to estimate the difference between the solutions to these systems. The \(L_1\)-norm of this difference with respect to one variable is estimated by the total variation of the initial state (and the other variable), provided that this variation is small.
